At Paw Avenue we strive to create a fun, stress free and safe environment for your best friend. We groom by appointment only and each pet is given a specific time based on breed and weight. Because each pet is an individual and requires a different amount of time to be completely groomed, prices will vary. A price range can be given prior to your first grooming based on the services you are requesting; however, we cannot give you a solid quote until we actually see your pet.
Safety First
ALL Dogs must be on leash. Please make sure your companion has a secure collar or harness with identification.
Cancellations
Please call at least 24 hours prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule.
Our Groomers use a gentle and loving approach in handling our clients, therefore our appointments are scheduled so that each four-legged client receives attentive care in a soothing and calm environment. Your spa appointment is a reservation for services and for the individualized attention we provide each pet. We can only take a limited number of appointments each day. A missed appointment is a loss of income to a small business and our groomers.
Late Arrivals
We are only able to perform the grooming services for your pet in the time allotted for your scheduled appointment. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we may not be able to perform your scheduled grooming services and you may need to reschedule your appointment so that we can stay on schedule with our other clients.
COMPLETION TIME
Every effort will be made to keep our scheduled grooms running smoothly. A typical pet(s) groom can be completed in 3 to 5 hours from the time of your appointment. If your pet(s) has behavior issues or skin and coat problems you may be looking at a longer period of time. If you need your pet(s) returned by a certain time please let us know prior to the groom. We are happy to work with you as much as possible, but repeated calls to check on the readiness of your pet(s) only causes further delay.
We do not provide waiting facilities for our patrons and for the comfort and security of your pet(s), it is not recommended that you come in too early while we are still grooming your dog, as it can cause them to become stress and anxious.
Late Pick-ups
At the time you drop off your pet, we will be able to give you an approximate pick up time. We will also call 10 minutes before your pets groom is done. We ask that you pick up your pet within 40 minutes of the call. If you are late, an additional fee will be added to accommodate the time spent caring for and keeping your pet comfortable until you arrive. Late Pick-up Fees are as follows: $5 for each 10 minutes after a 40-minute grace period.
Aggressive Behavior and Bite Policy
We reserve the right to refuse aggressive or hard to handle dogs. We do not use any type of tranquilizers on pets. Should your pet display aggressive behavior towards our groomers, we will make all attempts to finish grooming your pet with a muzzle. If your pet continues to displays aggressive behavior and our groomer is unable to complete your appointment, you may be charged a partial fee for the amount of time spent attempting to groom them. The safety of our staff is our priority.
MATTED OR NEGLECTED COAT AND SHAVEDOWNS OR CUSTOM CUTS
Allowing a pet’s coat to get matted is not only very UNCOMFORTABLE, but DANGEROUS for your pet’s health. Excessive matting can be avoided with regular brushing and grooming and the groomer will be happy to show you some brushing techniques for mat prevention. Neglect of pet’s coat can cause problems after grooming such as clipper/brush irritation. Under this circumstance, a shave down is the only way to allow the skin to receive the necessary oxygen and for new, healthy hair to grow. If the client requests the mats be combed out, the groomer will not do so if it causes pet undue stress or pain. Excessive de-matting is a painful, time-consuming and costly procedure that causes extreme discomfort and can aggravate (or cause) skin problems. Shaving of your pet may dramatically change your pet’s appearance and the hair will be very close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions. Severely matted dogs will not be accepted and grooming appointment will be terminated. Shave downs or custom cuts that are outside normal specific breed haircuts will be discussed and the groomer will perform the cuts to the best of his/her understanding of client’s directions and his/her ability but no other guarantee is made.
OLDER DOGS
We will use extra care and patience for older pet(s)s; however, we will not be held responsible for any reaction due to the mental or physical stress of grooming the geriatric pet(s). If, in our judgment, brushing or clipping is determined to cause too much stress to the pet(s), we will modify or terminate the haircut. Please be sure to notify us of any health conditions that might make your pet(s) uncomfortable during the bathing, drying, or clipping phases.
Any grooming which takes place on an elderly or frail pet(s)/s is conducted at your risk.
Return Policy:
Our return and exchange policy last 7 days with original receipt. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused/unopened and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
